Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) has once again been recognized as China's most innovative international school, earning the top spot in KingLead’s prestigious rankings for the fourth consecutive year. Released on February 29, the rankings are part of KingLead’s “China International School Innovation Competitiveness Top 100”, a highly respected evaluation of international education in China.
KingLead, a platform co-created by experts from Ivy League and Oxbridge universities, highlights schools that excel in fostering innovation and creativity in education. Their rankings analyze international schools across major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, considering a range of factors that contribute to the schools' educational impact.
The factors include aspects such as “Innovative Curriculum,” “Faculty-Student Ratio,” and “Parents’ Comments” among others. After another thorough review of schools for children of foreign nationals, WAB was once again named the leading innovator in its category.

WAB’s success in the KingLead rankings is built on several key criteria, including certification and faculty quality, social influence, and expert assessments. The top schools in the ranking must meet stringent standards to receive a 5A rating, the highest possible score. WAB earned strong marks across all categories, securing its place as a top-tier institution.
The KingLead rankings are highly competitive, drawing from hundreds of private international schools and schools for foreign nationals across China. Every year, only the top 50 schools in each category are selected, with WAB standing out as a leader in international education.
